Questions and answers

Short, direct answers about what exists, what is planned and what QCE does not do.

Availability and prices

Can I buy a course now?

No. Enrolment is not open for any program and this site cannot take payments. The prices shown are planned starting prices.

What is available today?

The sample lesson on outcomes and costs, with its interactive calculator, a printable worksheet and an answer key. It is free and needs no account or email address.

When will Foundations open?

No date is announced. It opens when all six modules, the workbook, the checkpoint sets and the final assessment exist and have been reviewed, and when seller, refund and support details are published.

Why are prices shown before the courses exist?

So that the planned scope and cost are clear before anything is sold. They are starting prices in US dollars: Foundations $99, Engineering $499, Build $1,490 and the Private Architecture Review from $2,500. Taxes and the final total will be shown before any purchase.

Can I join a waiting list?

Not at the moment. The site has no sign-up form.

Content and boundaries

Is this investment advice?

No. QCE teaches methods for specifying, testing and documenting decisions. Nothing on this site recommends an instrument, trade or strategy.

Do you provide signals or a strategy that makes money?

No. A well-supported decision to reject a candidate counts as a successful course result. No program promises profits or income.

Is the data in the sample lesson real?

No. Every number is synthetic, in fictional units. A synthetic example demonstrates a method; it cannot show that any market edge exists.

Do I need to know how to code?

Not for Foundations, which needs percentages, spreadsheet arithmetic and English reading. Engineering is design work on paper. Build requires Python functions and dataframes, command-line use and basic Git, and does not teach programming from zero.

What does permission mean here?

A bounded, expiring authorization for one specific action, issued only after named checks pass. A positive calculation is one input to those checks, never permission by itself. Read the method

Which markets and instruments are covered?

The teaching examples are instrument-neutral and use synthetic data. The first Build cohort excludes derivatives, leverage and multi-asset portfolios.

Will I get a certificate?

Passing the Foundations assessment produces a completion record that reads Course assessment passed. It is not a professional certification, an accreditation or evidence of trading competence.

People and process

Who writes and reviews the material?

QCE is owned by Steven Alber. Each released lesson will name its author and technical reviewer. The sample lesson is a draft: its arithmetic is checked by automated tests, and independent technical review and learner testing have not yet happened.

How are mistakes corrected?

Released lessons keep an edition history. Corrections are published and remain visible, and learners stay linked to the edition they bought.

Where can I follow QCE updates?

On the QCE Telegram channel, Quant Capital Engineering. It carries research notes, sample learning materials and development updates. It is a broadcast channel, not a support service.

How can I contact QCE?

You can follow QCE updates on our Telegram channel. A dedicated support contact will be published before enrolment opens.
